Awful things I did today instead of work on my dissertation

Feb 14, 2010 20:31

I don't do this to shock you, merely to make this humiliation public, thus leaving me with a mental scar to remember next time I feel like dossing off on my work.
  1. Washed myself and my hair at a sink of lukewarm water with a mug (still no hot water).
  2. Reminded myself how much I hated Repo! The Genetic Opera by reading the Agony Booth's recap of it.
  3. Read ( Read more... )

music, gaiman, filth, woe is me, random

I vaguely remember the saw fairies, and my neighbor when I was a kid had the hair-eating Cabbage Patch doll. But that Pez dispenser sounds totally inappropriate and awesome at the same time.

That FF7 fic you mentioned is one of those that makes me really question humanity's collective sanity sometimes. I think that may even be worse than one I found where Cloud was raped by one of those Marlboro monster things. :( Both of them make me wish for brain bleach.

The best part was, apart from the potential choking factor, that alongside a lazergun alternative, the primary model was a true-to-life Glock in realistic colours. To wit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo3uxeI_sB4

As for the FFVII fanfic, I sometimes wonder if we were all playing the same game or not :( But does that mean i'm not going to go looking for the Cloud/Marlboro fic you mentioned? Does it heck.

Hahahaha holy crap people would flip out if some kid showed up with one of those at school today! It's hilarious someone thought that was a good idea, really. "Hey so. People will like this candy gun that makes you look like you're shooting yourself in the mouth, right? Great idea!"

Yeeahhhh sometimes I'm wondering the same exact thing. It's such a great game though.
I do believe the Cloud/Marlboro fic was lurking in the depths of AdultFanfiction.net somewhere. It was years ago. But I'll say this much for it, disturbing as hell or not it has provided endless lolz. My friends and I still laugh ourselves stupid about it once in a while when one of us brings it up.

HELLO. I AM HERE FROM THE FUTURE TO COMMENT ON YOUR PAST JOURNAL ENTRY. Let's do this point by point style.
1. D: Got it back yet?
2. Aww, I liked that movie. I can totally see how someone could hate it, though. I'll google this recap.
3. SDRAWKCAB is the best way to experience things. Was it just as intriguing?
4. That movie is comedy gold, man. The entire theater was cracking up when I saw it. Although, autistic, really? Not that I'm objecting - just that I'm wondering why you used that descriptor in particular.
5. Huh, the other day a French person randomly commented on my journal. Maybe it was TRANSATLANTIC LIVEJOURNALING DAY. That sounds like a good event to exist, actually.
6. what
what
7. I need to see this. To Google once more!
8. AND I WANT THESE TOO. Suicide Pez is delicious!
9. That band's name will never not make me laugh
10. EXCUSE ME WHILE I DIE. I would say "there are no words", but those are words. Alas, poor FF7 characters, they are so oft-abused...
11. Funny, today I replied to this journal entry.

Well, the autism thing is mainly because, knowing some Autistic people, Edward Cullen in particular comes across as it instead of dark and moody. Especially his refusing to look her in the face and muttering obliquely during the Science class scene. This is of course soley due to crap acting. Maybe i'm a little off medically speaking, but it's certainly a lot more Rain Man than Dracula.

Ha! No, that's a good point, it does seem that way. Although to me it came across more as possibly psychotic molester. Definitely some kind of mental illness, though.

Although, having said that now, I reckon Twilight would have been 100bnX better if Edward had been played by Dustin Hoffman. Try convincing your dad to let HIM take you to the prom :D
