Rob's HUGE-ASS music library (amazingly not tl;dr!)

A few posts ago in my "about me" I promised i'd get around to doing a post on what sort of music I listen to. Well, as you're about to see, there's no way I could cover that in any kind of complete sense since there's TOO FUCKING MUCH OF IT. Even putting together this list made me go "holy shit!". You see, while i'd usually list my hobbies as ( Read more... )

Wow, i've never elicited a Squee before, i must be doing something right. And I am definitely going to have to see that paper someday.

The genres are pretty vague - Bhangra for example is all my Indian-related music, including ADF who are British, instead of soley what it should be, which is the sort of stuff you get on Bollywood films.

Yes, you must. In fact i'm making this my first STEAL THIS MEME meme. So steal it. *Ominous Stare*

Hooray for giant music libraries! And bonus points for Belle & Sebastian, because they're awesome. There are a bunch of others on your list that I like too. Dir en grey has been a musical interest of mine for a looonnngggg time, more so in the past but I still enjoy listening to them once in a while.

I have about 16 days worth of music on my hard drive right now. I have a Last.FM too but right now it's probably pretty skewed. I've been in the extremely slow process of rerouting my Itunes so it knows where my files are, since my old external hd died a miserable death and I had to start using a new one. So there's a lot of music I haven't listened to at all in the past 6 or 7 months.

I feel your pain - my laptop has two 60g drives, one completely blank, and now that's pretty much full of music from my record collection and that of anyone else dumb enough to leave me alone in their room. And now I have the 1tb Brick it's got a copy of the whole lot. Its 120g predecessor was so incredibly flimsy the drive was only attatched inside the case at one end with the other rattling up and down.

I use WMP, which is highly tempramental - artists will suddenly have 9 plays to their names or an album will suddenly split in half. I've started using Itunes for my audiobooks, but the computer doesn't like it.
