This is gorgeous, particularly, "Booth is different, maybe because he makes her feel like she’s part of people, too." That is absolutely perfect, as is their shared thought that, "It could have been you," and the truth that the sex/not-sex...it doesn't matter: what matters is THEM and their connection.
There were a lot of FANTASTICALLY perfect parts to this fic but this:
(It’s almost funny, how hard he’s tried not to break Bones. How the hardest thing is sometimes not breaking Bones, but here she is, broken. Maybe he’s her forensic anthropologist. He sees her breaks, can pinpoint their causes and effects, how long they’ve been there, how healed or not they may be. Booth does not think this so clearly, but he thinks the thought around its edges. It doesn’t matter. Maybe not now, or ever.) is my ABSOLUTE favourite! YES! Just YES!!!!

“You’re good at teaching.” made me FLAIL!
And over all the whole thing made me grin like a dork! Love your insight into them :)
