Living in the 21st first century we haven't really abolished duels, or mano-a-mano type combat but merely transferred them into a more 'socially acceptable' style - termed "the interview".  Rather than two men fighting to the death over leadership, their wits, brains, and talents are tested in the corporate realm of the interview process ( Read more... )

I was always good at interviews. Sure of myself but not too cocky. Confident in my abilities but willing to learn new things. The only interviews I haven't won over were the ones that I was deemed over qualified for. Basically, they thought I would only be there temporarily until I found something better...no matter how many times I told them I was fine starting over from the bottom. That's what you have to do when you are wanting a complete and total career change.

As for the fear of the unknown, I would like to read more on that. Sounds to me like you're holding yourself back. If you make a career change and turns out you don't like it, you can just find something new!
