[For as calm and composed as Zelda may sound, her position is hardly of the sort. She’s back in her room now, lacking a variety of objects-many of which mean something of great sentimental value to her. If it’s never been apparent before, it certainly will be when she finally manages to speak. She has no intentions of publicly speaking about

[He smiles just a little, touching her cheek again. She's back. She came back. After twenty four hours of nothing he'd ... there had been that nagging doubt that maybe she wouldn't come back at all. And now she's here, and Jak's suddenly acutely aware of how much it hurt when she wasn't around.]
I missed you.

[He left it in her safekeeping. And she failed. How pathetic. All she had to do was look after a pendant. Zelda's kicking herself.
And then it all seems to melt away with his touch. She doesn't want that to go away. In her mind, her feelings for Jak had already been confirmed, but the fear of not ever seeing him again has struck her heart so hard that she finds she won't be able to deny it. Or repress it.]
... I... want to say I will never leave you, but...
[She adjusts and turning her head, she rests her lips against the palm of his hand.]
I don't want to ever take my time with you for granted. If... If I never got to see you again, I... I'd rather die than live in a world without you.

[Wait, she's worried about the seal? Jak shakes his head and smiles at her.]
Forget it, it's useless here anyway.
[He runs his thumb lightly over her lower lip, his voice quiet.]
Don't think about that. We're here right now, that's what matters.

Zelda immediately begins to soften and instinctively her lips pucker against his thumb and a flush of pink touches her ears.]
...All right. Right here. Right now. That's... all that matters to me.

The idea of losing her again makes his stomach tighten, and he sighs, resting his forehead against hers and closing his eyes.]

Gods. She says that a few times in her head.
She draws her lower lip between her teeth and she bites gently. A hand rests against his chest, her fingertips fidgeting with his apparel. Is it subconscious? Is it desire? Is it what she has pent up?]

Why does he care so much? It hurts to lose his friends, every single time. Every time Jak doesn't get there fast enough to save them, every time he has to listen to their pleas for help over ShipNET, every time he finds their clothes strewn across the ship. But this feels different. It's stronger, but he feels it much deeper in his gut, it clenches at him like he hasn't felt before. It's not a feeling he's familiar with, it's not rage or despair or excitement. It's something entirely new.]

Then there's Zelda, who finds it all utterly natural. 'Natural'. Or perhaps she simply finds that in Jak's company, she could just melt against him.]

Something wrong?
[And then it hits him. She's naked. Well, probably. Beneath the sheet at least. A brilliant red blush accompanies the huge grin that creeps over his features, and he clears his throat and tries not to look as awkward as he feels.]
Oh ... right.

W-well... I... That is... I wasn't... I didn't...
[Her expression mirrors his and she draws a hand up to scratch her cheek.]
I was just so happy to see you that I suppose my heart spoke a little quicker than my logic.
N-not that this is... bad. Your hands are warm, so it feels nice.

That's... a very good start.

Of course it is. It's... enticing.

[It's a quiet, rumbling murmur before he presses his lips to hers in a gentle, reassuring kiss.]
