Ok, firstly -- how exciting is it that we can do this about a new Joss show?!!!?? I have seen some reviews on my friends list, all of which I shall be getting to in a bit. But first I wanted to get some of my own thoughts out before I lose them (no pun intended).
In case anyone on my friends list hasn't seen the pilot, I'm warning that there is

I completely agree with this. The opening theme was excellent and I'm never opposed to seeing more of Eliza, but I'm so used to Joss's opening credits showing the entire cast. It was disorienting not to see everyone!

That's a really good point, and something that also occurred to me. Instead of having the traumatic transplants of Eleanor that should have been triggered, she had the traumatic flashbacks of Echo.
I can't wait for next week either! I think it's safe to say that ME has done it again.

That's a good way of putting it. I wonder if Joss will do this more with Echo in the future. It's really a very dark premise, if you think about it. We have no one to root for really, except Echo, and she is not even a real character at this point.
I think it's safe to say that ME has done it again.
I hope so!

Ant's theory on Claire is that she was an active and got damaged/scarred during an engagement... Topher then imprinted her with the character of Claire Saunders, a doctor whom he'd loved and had died a few years back...
I love his mind.
Interesting thoughts on the military cap - I hadn't noticed that.
Boyd is my favourite... yes there was most definitely watcher/slayer undertones, but I like that. He cares so deeply for Echo's wellbeing, I can't wait for it to complicate an engagement! :-)

I do think that she may have been an active at one point. That's an interesting theory about Topher imprinting her with the character of Claire Saunders, though I kind of hope it's not the case. I'd like to have at least one female character whom I can relate to whose personality is genuine.

He cares so deeply for Echo's wellbeing, I can't wait for it to complicate an engagement!I think that in the next episode it will complicate things, if the previews are any indication. I'm also interested in seeing how the relationship changes once Echo gains awareness, because on the one hand you have this mentor figure, and on the other hand you have a man who is basically partaking in "pimping her out", lol. It's a very hard thing to reconcile when you ( ... )

Haha! Yeah, I am actually liking him the least so far. I don't know, there's something very simplistic about his character -- the FBI guy who is obsessed with this case that is based on myth. Where have we seen that before? *coughmuldercough* I also am not wild about the actor, sadly. I know that will make me not-so-popular to say. I am open-minded though, and will give him a chance to grow on me :-P
I'm not so sure I like Sierra and so far I think I'm the only one to feel that way. She seems kinda stiff to me.I can understand what your saying. Obviously we haven't really seen that much of her. She had all of two lines in the pilot. Haha. I don't agree with those that say she has more screen presence than Eliza though. To be honest I am getting a bit annoyed at people dissing Eliza's acting. I don't understand it at all. I mean, no, she isn't Meryl Streep -- but she ( ... )
