Challenge #43: OUT OF BOUNDS
It's the beginning of a new month, so you guys all know what that means - yet another lyrical challenge! Everyone really seems to enjoy them, and I do too, so let's head right into another one. :)
~ THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE ~
The song that we're going to use this month is Out of Bounds, by Amanda Marshall. This has always struck me as the consummate Obidala song, to such an extent that I once used it in a songfic. (For those of you who don't know me so well - I generally abhor songfics, and avoid writing them at all costs. But I made an exception for this song simply because it's so applicable.) Everything about the Obi-Wan/Padmé relationship is encapsulated by "Out of Bounds": the forbidden aspect of their love, the idea that they cannot ever be together because she belongs to another, the idea that a relationship for him is not permitted by the Jedi Code. I'm sure that you can find other interpretations in the lyrics as well, but those are the ones that stand out most prominently for me. Similar to the previous lyrical challenges, there are some quite specific rules, so please read carefully.
