Damn! That's seriously fucked up. My mother started dating my step-father 6 months after my father died... My brother and I were devistated when she married him a year later. The man is a sleaze, my mother was his 3rd marriage, and he'd been living with one of her friends the year before my dad died. He cheated on her twice, beat the crap out of my little brother, and never could hold a job so my mum had to support him for 10 years. She FINALLY came to her senses last year and kicked his ass out. She is fileing for divorce soon and my brother and I are planning a party when it goes through, even if I have to fly 3000 miles to be there.

But I hate that you and your brother had to be dragged into a situation like that, especially as it sounds you were still young enough at the time not to have a say about it.

At least if my mom ever does make that mistake I can just wash my hands of her... AFTER make sure I get power of attorney so him and his trashy kids can't ever get their hands on her life insurance. I say that because thats what happened to her friend... she was tricked into signing papers putting everything into her step-daughters hands and not 3 monthes later she was shipped off to a nursing home.

I'm not sure what posesses them really. When my mom got married I was just 18, my brother however was only 13. Damn! Yeah I'd make sure I managaed to get all paperwork in my favor and kept everything out of their grasping greedy little paws.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel on this fella, isn't she? Sheesh. All you can do is just keep your eyes open and step in when he makes his move to get what he wants...or step in before hand, cause he's definitely wanting her money or something. He's not in it for the love, that's sure...his track record speaks too much to present otherwise.

And how in the heck did they hook up to begin with? Through her friend.

WOW. LOL.....what a soap opera indeed. My mother, as stubborn as she is, hasn't been laid in about....24 years..I'm guessing.

Yeah...I don't live with her *thank god* I only wish that she had some secret romps around the country (she's a flight attendant), but there's no hope there. At least she's ACTIVE ;) LOL.
