When I was tutoring undergrads in statistics at UIUC, most of them couldn't really do algebra, and some couldn't do fractions.

HOWEVER -- as sure as I am that some of them are actually unintelligent, I'd say many are plenty intelligent, but wholly ignorant, untaught or poorly taught, and possibly just not intellectually curious.

Oh, right -- the other thing -- you're really freakin' smart, so lots of people will seem dumb to you who are actually average or above average.

But yes, ouch. Let's hope there are few group projects (?)

I know I've got SOME group projects coming this semester, just can't remember in which classes.

But damnit, some of these kids are upperclassmen, and actually very few of them are freshmen. They should have figured this crap out by now. And yeah, I'm aware that my standards are skewed by my blinding brilliance. :)

Last semester in my advanced windows class, there was a lady who didnt know how to use the mouse. How she got into that class we'll never know...
