He lucked out, didn't he? The boy had opened the locker that, strangely enough, had his name on it... And he'd been more than pleased to find two of his own outfits! The red velvet and black lace, and... well you'll see tomorrow what else it held ( Read more... )

Al himself had finally pinned the long cape that came with his costume to his shoulder. By the way, hello Phantom of the Opera-esque clothing and mask. Though not nearly as grand as Ciel's, it was the match of anything else in the ballroom, though he felt ridiculous walking around in it. Right now, he was haunting the punch bowl, staring contemplatively into his glass.

Alphonse lifted his eyes and quickly moved towards the familiar figure entering the ballroom.

At least he was a familiar face.

"Ciel...?"

Che; Ciel ruled the ballroom when he went in. Or he liked to think anyway. No one had anything similar to his, at least not in the Gold Ballroom. And certainly not red velvet and black satin.

Still, one single blue eye peered out of that guilded black and ruby mask as his name was called, and for a moment, it looked like he hadn't known where it came from.

But-- There. By the punch bowl.

"Good evening, Alphonse." He spoke up as he got closer, ruby-topped cane clicking gently against the ground as he moved.

"Hi," Al said softly, and brought the glass to his lips, so he wouldn't have to drink. He wasn't good around so many people, and without his brother to watch over and busy himself with making sure nothing was destroyed and tempers were soothed, he felt awkward and out of place.

"I have no idea what I'm doing."

Ho ho, there's a little smirk from the boy, simply watching the blond pretend to drink and glance around like a nervous puppy.

"It isn't hard, Alphonse. If someone speaks to you, you reply in turn, and if someone catches your eye, you speak to them. If everyone waited for someone to speak first, there would be no more talking.

"Besides. I'm sure you know how to dance. I've seen you at the previous ball; you were having a gay old time with quite a few of the ladies, weren't you?"
