Alphonse lifted his eyes and quickly moved towards the familiar figure entering the ballroom.
At least he was a familiar face.
"Ciel...?"

Still, one single blue eye peered out of that guilded black and ruby mask as his name was called, and for a moment, it looked like he hadn't known where it came from.
But-- There. By the punch bowl.
"Good evening, Alphonse." He spoke up as he got closer, ruby-topped cane clicking gently against the ground as he moved.

"It isn't hard, Alphonse. If someone speaks to you, you reply in turn, and if someone catches your eye, you speak to them. If everyone waited for someone to speak first, there would be no more talking.
"Besides. I'm sure you know how to dance. I've seen you at the previous ball; you were having a gay old time with quite a few of the ladies, weren't you?"
