Pizza for Volunteers?

Feb 27, 2008 20:43

As much as I'd like to, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to Ohio this weekend to help out. :( I was wondering, though - what if we had pizza delivered to some of the Obama HQs throughout Texas & Ohio? I know we need to give to the campaign funds, but I'd love to do a little something for folks working on the front lines.

I don't know if I'm spelling this right, because I've only heard her name spoken, but Morton in the Wisconsin office bought us pizza yesterday for the Corpus Christi office in TX. I thought that was really nice.

Yes! Great idea. And two-liters of soda. :) Make sure to get a veggie-friendly pizza or one of each. :) LOL. (seriously)

When we were getting close to caucus day we got gift cards from volunteers--it was a life saver! Sending food or gift cards would be great. It just takes so much time to go and get the food that it's wonderful if other people can take care of that need for you.

You could go on the blog at the official site and see what people need or just call the headquarters.

I know the Dallas office set it up with a Whole foods nearby to take phone donations and the Obama folks can come in and purchase food for the office. It's a bit healthier than pizza. It's just one option. Here's the email they sent:

Want to help with food and drinks for Obama Dallas Headquarters for the staff and all of the volunteers who are putting in many hours? Don’t have time to cook or deliver?

We have arranged with Whole Foods to take donations for food over the phone and put them on a gift card which we can use to buy items as needed.

To make your donation, please contact Scott or Joanna at Whole Foods. Via email concierge.highlandpark@wholefoods.com or call 214-520-7993 x216

Please use the subject: For the Obama Food Gift card. If you send an email and don’t want to provide your credit card details, leave your contact information, so Scott or Joanna can get back to you.

Thank you for all you do. We may not get an opportunity to thank you directly, but we are very, very grateful.

Questions: call Gillian at 214-780-
