This healthcare bill is an American right-wing healthcare bill with some fine-tuning. The nuts and bolts of it come right out of Republican alternatives to "Hillarycare," combined with a national upgrade to "Romneycare."

There is no public option. Not even any real "govt. insurance plan," as you referred to it. It's a Federal law that requires all citizens to buy private, for-profit health insurance from an insurance cartel.

I prefer it a great deal over the status quo, but socialism it most certainly is not. If it's any "-ism," I think of it more as a form of fascism, to be perfectly candid.

Yeah, I know.

That number is thanks to the 57% of Republicans that actually believe he is a Muslim. (NOT that being a Muslim is bad in the first place!!!)

Wuhh? Don't trust this poll? There have been many others taken with very similar results conducted via phone calling, etc. Also, this is not some whack-job polling organization. This is a Harris Interactive poll, fairly well-respected, as pollsters go.

I would suggest that if they actually called registered Rs, they would have reached an even higher percentage of older, white, rural AM radio listening Rs (Limbaugh et. al.), and that all these crazy responses may have even been a little higher than reflected here.

Agreed. I need to know if it's one that people could choose to take (those always draw the most extremes on both ends) or one that was emailed to a random smattering of people. My statistics class has made me doubt everything!

42 percent of Republicans believe Obama is a racist. (??????????)

Do these people know that our President's mother & the grandparents who helped raise him were all "white people"? Are their minds so full of paranoia & hatred that they forget that then-Senator Obama had to leave the campaign trail to see his WHITE grandmother before she passed away? When she died 2 days before Election Day (AFTER having voted via absentee ballot, thankfully) , Senator Obama wrote of his WHITE grandmother, Madelyn Dunham , that she was "the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility." That doesn't sound like a racist to me...or to most people who put more than a few seconds' thought into the subject.

67 percent of Republicans think Obama is a socialistJust WOW! I think the political pachyderms should change their initials from GOP to GODP (Grand Old DELUSIONAL Party...though, I personally haven't seen anything "Grand" about that party since Teddy Roosevelt). Of course, considering the herd that's ( ... )
