So I was talking to someone at work today and she was saying she didn't like Obama, so I asked why, and asked her to name three things she didn't like, hoping maybe I could maybe get her to think better of him ( Read more... )

I sincerely doubt the veracity of either claim. Now I could see if he went overseas and did not have a plane that was marked, but not here in this country.

As to the making fun of a child with disabilities. I very sincerely doubt that VERY much.

He's specifically said that kids are off limits, and I've never heard him break his own guideline.

I felt kinda sorry for Willow and Piper at the recent Philadelphia Flyers game, where they came out to help "the most famous hockey mom" drop the ceremonial first puck, and had to listen to the crowd boo their mom.

Like I said in another comm: I feel more sorry for the kids because their mom is Sarah Palin than because they had to listen to her get booed.

She might mean that when he had his campaign plane repainted, he painted over the flag on the tail with his logo: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/airplane.asp

I've never heard of the second one.

I have a similar story though. My bf's and his family (who I live with) are Repubs. I asked him in the kitchen one day to name 5 reasons why I should vote for McCain and I would. His 28 y/o twin sister immediately piped up, "Obama's Muslim! He doesn't salute the flag!"

Needless to say, I refuse to discuss politics in the house now.
