The good news is that in every impartial poll I've seen, people thought Obama did better (by a pretty wide margin, too).

Yes, McCain definitely seemed defensive. He was also disrespectful, smug, condescending, contemptuous (this adjective was used by several different commentators, so I know I didn't imagine it), and downright RUDE

Some commentator said as he kept hearing the Obama doesn't understand line and then Obama demonstrated that he did know it brought up the Spectre of Sarah Palin who truly wouldn't know

I totally agree. I think he was on the defensive a LOT last night, which is one of the reasons I think he really started to get mad and looked really uncomfortable. Personally, I think Obama looked great for keeping his cool, even when he was getting blasted. Although I do wish he would've attacked a little more ... but this is his supposed 'weak area', and attacking might've just given the McCainites more fodder.

Although I think the blinking was just because he's really old and his corneas are all dried out. ;D
