Oooh, it's a bit late now, but I'm going to check that out tomorrow. What got me hopeful about your review is the idea that the auther has got the mix of the relationship of Jake and Chance right. I think those two are actually pretty hard to write. Because it's easy to fit them into the pattern of 'big tough guy,' and 'small weak nerd,' when that's SO not the case. Sure, there are elements of it but, in truth, Jake is as tough and wild as Chance, and chance is as smart as Jake, sometimes. And getting the relationship between them, that friendly botherhood/rivelry/snark has gotta be tough.
I can't wait to check this fic out.
