Orlando stepped inside the door, looked around. It was a small clinic and he didn’t see anyone else than the person behind the desk. He went forward and announced his arrival.
She nodded and asked him to sit down and wait until the doctor was ready to receive him. He did as he was told. She looked up after a moment and noticed he hadn’t bothered to take his cap off.
Looking on the table next to the waiting chairs he saw a few old magazines, but didn’t feel like looking at them. He was just satisfied with stairing straight ahead.
**A few minutes later**
“You can send in my next patient.” The inter com buzzed.
“Dr Wood will see you now Mr Bloom.” Andrea informed the waiting guy.
She had been sitting watching him between her work since he had arrived. He was cute. He looked nervous or worried, though that was something she was used to. There weren’t many that seemed fond of going to the doctor. As he went through the door she turned and watched his back and behind. It was a nice ass.
Orlando went into the doctor’s office, very well aware of the nurse staring. It had been quite nerving with her watching him whole he waited. So with some relief he shut the door behind him.
He was greeted by the doctor; “Hi Mr Bloom. I’m Elijah Wood. What can I help you with?”
Orlando sat down in the chair he was appointed to. He then took of his cap, turned it over and saw that it was like the other times, too many of his hairs had fallen out.
“I’m worried and wondering what is making me to lose more hair than usual. Am I low in some kind of protein or what else could cause it?” he asked.
Elijah looked for a moment at him. “What made you suspect that you losing more hair than usual? How much would you say it is?”
“Every time I draw my fingers through the hair it seems I have my hand full. When I brush the hair, the brush is filled after one draw. In the morning when I wake up the pillow has a lot too. I’m clearly thinner than I used to be.”
“Hm, it does not look bad.”
Orlando turned and showed his neck, where it was more obvious. He moved some and it showed there were spots where there was no hair at all.
Elijah got up and leaned forward to see it real close. When he touched it even he got more hairs than what was considered normal.
“I agree with you that this does not look good. We do need to take some tests.” He went back to his chair. “Are you a vegetarian or do you have any food allergies?”
“No, nothing. I do eat a various cost.”
“How about stress? Are you under a lot of pressure? May I ask what you do for a living?”
“There are times I’m under some stress, but not lately. I work as a model, so during the year I don’t know from time to time how much work I will get.”
“Okay, then I can understand this is really worrying for you and that can build up some stress as well. There can be periods when stress and lot of pressure make few people to lose more hair than normal. Stress symptoms can show differently. Some get eczema, some have problems with their stomach and a very small percent get temporary loss of hair.”
“You think my hair will grow back?”
“In the very best case yes, though I can’t say for sure. Not before you have taken the tests and receive the results.”
Orlando tried to absorb what he was being told and just nodded.
“I’ll send you out to Andrea so she can do your tests and also book a new appointment.”
“Okay.”
“If you should notice any changes and get really worried before that you are welcome to give a call.”
Orlando raised, put his cap on and went out to the nurse. He really hoped the test would show it wasn’t anything else than a temporary thing and he also wanted to know that he was healthy. He couldn’t avoid seeing the looks the nurse gave him, usually he didn’t have a problem when people looked at him. He knew that he was good looking. The uneasiness had begun when he noticed the very first bald spot.
“Dr Wood said I should book a new appointment and let you give me some tests.” He told her. Wishing it would go very fast so he could get away from there.
“Let’s go and take the test first. After that I can book the appointment, then I will know how long it will take to receive all the results.”
She showed him into another room and pointed at a chair. “If you role up your sleeve and sit down I will begin by taking your blood pressure and a few blood samples.”
He sat down and did what she asked him to do. She went to the computer in the room and pushed a few buttons and soon a few labels were printed. She took the gear for the pressure and hooked that around his arm. It was perfectly normal. Then she started to take the blood samples.
Orlando had to admit that she was very good at her job, since he didn’t feel anything when she pricked him. Though when she was satisfied and drew the needle out he was relived it was over. She was fast and soon he had a band-aid over it.
“Do you think you could give a urine sample?”
“I can try.” He said but actually felt he wouldn’t have a problem with it.
“Good, take this and when you walk out to the right you will see the lavatory.”
Orlando didn’t have any problem getting the sample she wished for and was soon back. He gave the cup to her and she dipped two strips in it and placed them on a washer.
“I can’t see there is anything unusual from this test, probably the blood samples will tell us more.” She said aloud. “Let’s make the appointment for you.”
She had started to walk out of the room and to the desk in the receiving area He just followed her.
“What do you say about coming back in two weeks?”
“That wouldn’t be any problem, what time?” he replied
“Hmm let’s see are you an early riser or would you prefer in the afternoon?”
“Which ever is okay, just book a time and I will be here.”
“Okay, Wednesday fortnight 2 pm then.” She said as she also wrote it down on a piece of paper. “See you then.” She said as she gave it to him.
“Thanks. See you.”
Orlando hurried out, not wanting to be there a minute more than necessary.
When he started to walk home he actually began to think of the nurse. Even if her watching had been nerve wrecking he now thought back and realized that she wasn’t so bad looking. Her hands had felt good, firm and smooth when she had held his arm when she took the tests. Her hair was long in a golden brown color and pulled into a ponytail. The eyes had been in a light brown color, very fitting to her hair. He had to admit to himself Andrea was good looking and he would probably or hopefully not feel so uneasy next time.
