There is a force at work in this country that will be the death of freedom if left unchecked. It is not progressive policies mislabeled as 'socialism', which is meant to be code for 'Godless communism'. It is ultra-reactionary right-wing evangelical Christianity.

But yeah, scary stuff. I keep wanting to tell myself that the fundamentalist Christian sects are the minority. But the sheer numbers of cultish idocy astounds and boggles the mind.
