My customers tell me that I should post on the Network more often. That everybody communicates over the Network. But what exactly do you say? No one could answer that for me. Must be a generational thing ( Read more... )

Yes, young miss! I run a tea shop with my incredibly handsome nephew. You should come by sometime! The tea is delicious, if I do say so myself.

You have a nephew here?

I'd like to try it! I've never been to a tea shop before! I'd like my friends to come with me, too!

Yes, Zuko. He has been here for the past three months, running the shop in my absence.

Never been to a tea shop? How awful! We must remedy that right away. And please do bring your friends. All are welcome!

You can write them using your device, if you like.

How are you settling in, Master Iroh?

I haven't quite got the knack of writing with this thing. I'm too old and set in my ways.

Other than that, I am settling in just fine. The City has a lot of pleasant things to recommend itself.

One is never too old to learn something new.

Other than the curses, and being stuck here, I rather enjoy this place.

So says the young, but you have a point. I shall give it my best!

You still need to come and sing for me at my teashop. You and your singing friends.

Puppies and... swords?

Now that's a comparison I never thought I'd hear!

o_tea_p August 4 2010, 19:54:04 UTC
The comparison itself was children to swords, and puppies were supposed to be similar. I wish I could remember how exactly it went!

Children and swords? That sounds pretty weird to me too! Though not as much as puppies, no doubt.

Uh. Maybe it had to do with how both need good handling and understanding...

Oooh, that's good too! But I think it was more about taking the bad with the good... Hrm.

Do not be grateful to the charlatans, for they do not consider your well-being when planning these curses. You were lucky. That is all.

What do you say? You comment on whatever you want, or record whatever you want. Ignore that for long enough, and the device tends to turn on without your permission, or if you're doing something important that the City believes should be made public -- even if it shouldn't.

I shall be grateful for my good fortune, then. A feeling of gratitude is good for the spirit.

That the City believes... do you mean the City, or the deities?

citadelspirit August 4 2010, 20:04:23 UTC
Spirit. That doesn't apply to me.

Either, or both. Some treat the City like some kind of entity. Knowing the magic and technology of this place, perhaps it is.

You are a recent arrival, according to my programs. Have you the information you need?

Oh?

I feel like I have some sign on my face that says "NEW HERE!" [quiet chuckle] But everyone has been more than kind, and I have been given the benefit of many wisdoms.

What do swords have to do with puppies?

o_tea_p August 4 2010, 20:00:03 UTC
More than you would imagine. If only I could remember exactly how it went!

sword_and_quill August 4 2010, 20:06:31 UTC
...Hmph. Don't bother remembering. None of those ridiculous 'morals' made any sense, anyway.

Perhaps you simply didn't give them enough thought.
