Don't Tell Me What I Can't Do! or How I Fainted On A Monster Hunt

Mar 08, 2009 23:23

Well, I'd intended to use my next post to convince you that I'm extremely interesting and kooky. I was going to tell you all about how I'd been on a monster hunt for the Beast of Riber over here in Derbyshire. I'd even planned to make a movie to show you...unfortunately I'm over two weeks late and, well, there isn't an update or a film because I ( Read more... )

valentine's day, lost, shows, chocolate craft, friends, cakes, my dog morgan, le chevalier d'eon, have you recovered from your ailments, sewing, watchmen, craft, the handsome family

Oh honey! I'm so sorry about your wrist, and your un-Victorian un-lady-like swoon! Perhaps... you were overcome by the spirit of the Beast of Riber? Or perhaps it was a medication interaction? I cannot say. Perhaps the Beast of Riber interacted with a medication. What do i know, i am no occultist.

Watchmen: I must see it this coming week. We wanted to go this weekend, but all of the Imax were sold out, which was tragic. That's the problem with living in New York; when you want to do something, there were 4,000 people who had the same idea and got there first. So, next week. What did you think of it?

Your Valentines gifts (given and received) make me jealous. That watch is phenomenal. Can you actually read it? Like, at a glance? Without staring at it for a half hour? I'm impressed.

I miss you! But i shall cut this comment off now, for fear of keeping you from your television for too long, because it sounds like you have a lot of catching up to get through!

PS Did you watch Being Human?

PPS Give Miss Morgan a snuggle for me, unless you feel she's getting spoiled by it. She looks quite fetching in her bandage.

Thank you, I'm fine and dandy now, I swear! You know, it may well have been the spirit of the Best of Riber! I remember we once went to a zoo with a big exhibition called 'Spirit of the Jaguar!' There was absolutely nothing in the enclosure, so we concluded that it really did contain the Spirit of the Jaguar. You know, I think the faint really was an allergic reaction to some medication I've just been put on. My skin is pretty bad and a dermatologist prescribed me some super strong antibiotics, I had one of the other 'super rare!' reactions this last week, so I've stopped taking the blighters ( ... )

I know! I think it was more scary for my friends, I felt so guilty! Unfortunately, I've been taping Lost for them and last weekend we were watching the episode where Charlotte collapses. There was much hilarity at my expense ;).

Thank you, I'm absolutely fine now, at least it's one item checked off the 'things to do!' list. Fainting? Check!

I love baking so much! The Polish cake hearts are cheaty and mainly involve crushed biscuits, I can give you the recipe if you like :D!

I made such a high pitched noise when I watched the latest episode of Lost that all the dogs in the street surely pricked up their ears (I think that will have to be the title of my post). I only saw it about two hours ago. Oh my God. I'm going to go catch up on your journal now.

Also? Thanks again for linking me to that picture, it killed me dead! *kisses your icon*

Oh dear I hope that you're OK and don't have any more fainting spells! I also hope that your doggie gets better.

I can't wait to hear what you thought of The Watchmen. I just watched it today (haw HAW). There was lots of nudity. *nods sagely*

I'm feeling fine now, thank you! *hugs*

All I will say on here is that I really enjoyed it! And yes, nudity....I laughed, I cringed. There's something quite hypnotic about a swaying blue penis. Oh man, I really have to put that in my review.

I am glad.

I took me a while to get into it--there were some "WTF?!" moments, like when 99 Luftballons started playing, which I never thought I would see in a comic book movie, oh-KAY.

My slash goggles are trying to figure out whether they want me to ship Ozymandias/Nite Owl II. The goggles' logic is that if I liked them both (and I did) I should invariably like the idea of them fucking. Meh, slash goggles. What'll ya do?

Do you give me permission to spraypaint that on my wall?

Oh I know! The first couple of minutes I was just like 8-O because...too much kung fu and....Nixon's face wtf? But as soon as the intro kicked in properly I was sold. And once I saw Dan I was relieved they'd cast him well. HE'S MY SPECIAL FAVOURITE!

I was trying so hard not to slash. Much like I'm trying very hard not to write spoilers here...Must. Try. Harder.

*hands you a spray can. It's a blue one.*

*snuggles you tight* I'm glad you're feeling better now, sweetie! Nasty meds with their nasty side effects! *growls at them*
Poor baby Morgan looks adorable in her pink bandage. Look at those 'woe is me' eyes!
We really really must meet up soon. I miss you! xxx

Oh, and, also, the binary watch is the coolest thing ever!

Thank you! Yes, these meds were fantastic for clearing up my skin (which was their purpose!) but what with the fainting and the fast pulse and then the swollen neck (eek! That was this week! I thought I had glandular fever!) I decided to give them a miss!

Haha! Yes, that's totally Morgan's expression!

Thank you so much, yes, I love it completely and utterly. I'm dying for someone to ask me the time as I pass them in the street ;).

Oh we must! We must! I miss you too. I was talking over-excitedly to a girl on my training course because she reminded me so much of you. ♥
