Dogville

Has anyone else seen Dogville? I tried to watch it over the weekend, but even the presence of Jeremy Davies couldn't stop me ejecting the DVD! Did I give up too early? Am I a Philistine? Maybe I just had too much art cinema forced down my throat at uni...

Should I give it another go? Y/N?

IT HAS NO SET!

films, fangirl crush, jeremy davies

But... but it has PAUL BETTANY!

Though I've actually never ever seen it myself.

I know! I was so disappointed! Paul Bettany and Jeremy Davies (the second name on that list a pleasure for me, if not for most of the world, haha) what could possibly go wrong? *weeps*

Kink you say? KINK? I clearly didn't watch it for long enough. Haha! I shall give it another go after all I bet Jeremy Davies isn't involved in this kink though... ;__;

*opens DVD case just in case*

Ya gotta go a little longer to get to the kink, but that's the point--watching how a situation can go from, "well, that makes sense..." to absolute insanity.

And I LOOOOOVE your icon!

Well, you could always do what I would do in this case--just skip to the parts with Jeremy in them and fastforward past all the other stuff. XD

Aww at your icon!

You know, that is a fantastic plan! The lack of a set just completely threw me! I saw him briefly, playing chess, but I couldn't concentrate on anything in the film. I'll grab my remote next time! x

Yeah, no set sounds awfully strange! I've never seen a movie like that but I probably wouldn't like it. but if it had Jeremy in it, I'd probably watch it anyway, yes I would ;)

See, I may be alone in this (and I haven't read the other comments yet) but I feckin' loved "Dogville". I loved the minimalistic no-set thing; it made me feel like I was watching a play. I found the absence of a traditional set forced me to pay attention to the actual story, instead of oohing & aahing over pretty locales.

If I were you, I'd give it another go. But, your choice. :)

I hope you like it! (But, if after watching it through, you don't... it's not my fault!)

Hey there! Thanks for checking out my journal :D :D :D.

I shall give it another go then! To be honest, Jeremy was an added bonus, I thought the film looked great from what I'd read. It was late when I watched it, so my concentration levels were low! I'll let you know what I think :)
