Once again I find that my week has been so very busy. My move went well but of course I am still sorting out things. It will take time. Al! I am so sorry to hear that your father is going through these health challenges. We can't take anything for granted when our folks reach a certain age. I hold you and your family close ... You'll be in my heart, thoughts and prayers as you fly to NZ to take care of your loved ones. Sending you strength, stamina and wisdom .... and, of course ... lots of
HUGS!

As always Neil, thanks for your concern. He is home now and seems to be reasonable but frail. Mum is the worry now. I am here for a few more days then i fly home. I hope things will be OK.

So sorry to hear about the condition that your parents are in now. Hope that your dad recovers soon. Good thing is that you are going to there to help them out about the flooding and other things. Safe trip!

Thanks John...the flooding was terrible and has caused a lot of damage, but that's what insurance is for! Dad is home now and hopefully he can stay home. It's a worry!

As you may recall from my growing-up saga retold here, my parents were SOMETHING ELSE. It was for Daddy, whose second wife had died nine years previously, that I partially returned to Texas in 1999. He made growing old and feeble unnecessarily traumatic, but surprisingly he came to appreciate my being closer during his last 13 months. We even came to understand one another a bit better and to appreciate one another and TO FORGIVE one another. It was a good thing.
