3rd story - HP: SB/RL - The Shape of His Hands

Finally, my third work in the genre. I like working w/ this pairing and do intend to continue. I have one fairly long WIP about half completed, and a collaboration planned for some future date.

Damn! I love this story, and just noticed I hadn't commented yet. Bad me! It's a wonderful story and I love your treatment of the characters, especially Harry. So nice to not see the relationship he has with adults abused. And sneaky devil Sirius, awake all that time... Makes me happy!

Hi, and thanks! nyxfixx July 6 2005, 23:04:55 UTC
Ah, thank you for stopping by some of the older sections of my 'notebook'.

I am glad you liked this one, it was the third in a sort of loose arc. I'd been thinking about Harry and the loveless childhood he'd experienced, and also about Sirius, and the similar lack of affection in his upbringing, and I'd seen a lovely Waccawheels drawing that showed the two of them together, w/ Harry as an infant. I confess, I think I'd seen one too many 'chan' fics as well.

Presto. This story took shape. I appreciate you taking the time to look it over again!

Ever considered paying Jazzypom? paranoidsistah September 16 2005, 01:23:18 UTC
She sure reccs you loads. Not that I needed her to after Feast. But I did not noticed these stories here on your LJ and she gave me the link to FanFiction so I read them there. I've said before how beautiful your writing is and it really is. The emotions you've conjured here seem to radiated off the screen and capture me with their raw honesty.
Is Sirius?” Harry asked softly. “Gay, that is? Are you ( ... )

Hi, PS!

Thank you for the kind feedback! I appreciate it very much.

And yes, in a way, I have considered paying Jazzy; I wrote a passel of rather lighthearted smut as a gift for her on her birthday. You can see it on my journal: “Curing the Potion”; if you ever feel like you want to read something light, playful, and not too challenging.

Jazzy’s been a great friend to my fic and was one of the main reasons why I became active here at LJ. And one of the things she did that impressed me beyond words happened months ago - I’d mentioned, offhandedly, that I was working on a ‘long’ fic over at Godawful Fanfiction last year. Jazzy remembered that one little idle remark of mine forever and emailed to ask me about it almost a year later. Knowing that there were actually people waiting to see “Feast”, even when it was still in its purely theoretical stage, really helped me keep my nose to the grindstone and finish it, no matter how long it took. midnitemaraud_r was another one of those who waited and waited and waited - and all only on the basis of the ( ... )

And I was as well, when I noticed that you friended me(told Jazzy about it.) I just started my journal a lil while back and since I don't write or beta, I'm very surprised when people find it and read it(even comment eep!) I don't post often so I hope not to disappoint you there. And about you friending me, I don't mind at all.

As for my inquiry on your future writing, that was because I've read everything on your journal already and so... yeah I'd love to read more. And I'm so excited that you're tackling MWPP/Sorting (I've been waiting for that for a while.)

Thanks again for posting such beautiful thought provoking work,

PS

And you have been sooo friended by the way... :)

Oh man, this is wonderful. I love your take on Sirius, Remus and Harry to bits! It's perfect. The dialog was so natural and witty and so THEM, I think I could have recognized who was who without attributions. This is one of the most original, touching ideas I have ever seen in fandom. You write so well, you make it look effortless because your beautiful, unpretentious prose is easy to read. I can't understand why you don't have tons of people reading your stories and giving you feedback.

Thank you for linking me to this. I really liked it.

Harry's confused, conflicting emotions were so beautifully described, and I thought the way he was able to resolve them with Remus' help was very believable. I've often thought it would be interesting to read a story in which a character has an inappropriate, misplaced crush on someone that doesn't result in them getting it on, but have shied away from actually writing it for fear of appearing heavy-handed. This worked perfectly though.

It was lovely to see Remus explaining how Sirius loved Harry, especially since that description could never have come from Sirius himself. The whole thing made me very happy.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. It was fun to do a 12G era fic w/o foundering on angst, and I quite enjoyed working w/ Harry in his unlovely CAPSLOCK stage. Thanks for reading!

BTW, that Sirius/Rosmerta/James fic? The whole idea was completely corrutpting and I'm on the case - about 2500 words in so far. Alas for my OTP. ;)
