"You like him?" Henry asked, tilting his head. He was currently hiding behind a bush, though it was only because he was forced to by the person squatting beside him.

Donghae shushed him. "He'll hear us!"

Henry rolled his eyes. "It's not like he'll react to anything we say anyway...I don't think I've ever seen him react to anything actually."

"He does..." Donghae said hesitantly. "He's just shy."

"You've known him for four years already. How is he still shy?!"

"SHUSH!"

"Donghae?" Donghae and Henry immediately froze. Slowly, Donghae looked up at the sound of the voice.

"Hi Kibum." Donghae said with a smile. Kibum simply stood there watching them. "We're just... meditating." Henry mentally smacked himself on the head. "You?"

"Walking." Kibum said with his recognizable monotone voice. Donghae gave a weak laugh. "Bye then." With that, Kibum walked off, leaving Henry who was shaking his head in embarrassment as Donghae clutched at his chest.

"You fail as both a stalker and a man. I hope you realize that." Henry said as he walked off, leaving Donghae behind to relive the four words spoken to him. Donghae snapped out of his reverie when he realized that his friend had left and ran after him.

They were inside his room now, discussing their next operation. Though it was mostly Donghae who did the planning and Henry being dragged along.

"Is there a reason why you always seemed to be fussing over your hair?" Henry asked as he flipped through a magazine to pass time.

Donghae shifted his eyes as his cheeks reddened slightly. "Kibum said it looked good that one time I fixed it up."

Henry gasped. "You mean he actually said something?!" He said mockingly. Donghae gave him a quick glare. "Well, it is shocking."

"You act as if you've never heard his voice before." Donghae replied, rolling his eyes. Henry arched an eyebrow.

"I'm not like you. I don't memorized every word he ever said to me." He watched as Donghae ignored him and tried once more to fix his hair. "Never-mind, this is even sadder."

He was silenced by the pillow thrown at him.

---

Donghae was stealthy, or at least attempted to be, as he waited by the side of the library. At exactly 12:30, Kibum walked around the corner, and as always, Donghae would go right up and greet him.

But today just wasn't his day. Donghae was about to greet him when he tripped over his own shoes and landed on the floor in front of Kibum.

Donghae felt his cheeks heating up. This was beyond embarrassing. He pushed himself up but felt his head hit someone's arm. He glanced up and realized he hit straight into Kibum's arm, the one extended to him it seemed to help him up.

"Sorry! I really am." Donghae continued to apologize but Kibum just blinked...and blinked. What he would give to get a reaction from this guy.

Kibum merely nodded and walked past him to class, Donghae sighed. Was he ever going to get to know this guy, like really get to know him? He ran his fingers through his hair when he realized how ruffled it had become, he cringed. He must've looked horrible in front of him.

---

"Please don't cry." Henry commented when Donghae moved side to side in his chair across from him at the library. "I swear I will end our friendship if you cry."

Donghae narrowed his eyes at him. "Cruel."

"At least it stopped you." Henry then glanced up. "All that time you spent on your hair went to waste." He was startled when Donghae dropped his head onto the table.

Donghae sulked about this over the weeks when he sensed Kibum nearby. Ignoring Henry's glowered look, he plucked up the courage to walk over towards him.

"K-Kibum, hi!" He greeted, wishing he didn't stutter but felt confident that he managed to do so.

"Hello." Kibum greeted in return and looked down at the ground. Donghae was left standing there. He coughed slightly, he needed to keep up the conversation. Even if it meant that only he would be doing all the talking.

"Is there something you want to talk about?" Donghae asked and then froze. He was surprised at his own forwardness. He was about to apologize when Kibum surprised him.

He actually responded.

"I'm a hard person to understand, aren't I?" He asked nonchalantly. Donghae found himself gaping. This had to be the longest sentence he has ever heard from him. Donghae immediately shook himself out of it.

"N-not really." He winced. He really had to get rid of this stutter. "Why?"

"It's just observations I've made. People don't take the time to get to know me. They never do really. But I think that's my own fault...I can't smile earnestly as they do or even cry as easily. I'm not even sure when was the last time I had actually laughed."

"Really?" Despite the supposed 'heartlessness' of it all, he was fascinated by all the words streaming out from Kibum's mouth. In the four years he had known him, not once had he heard so much. It made him feel special knowing; he was the only one to bear witness to it.

"It's not like I do it on purpose...It's just unnatural I guess." He said. "Does that make me a bad person?"

"No!" Donghae shouted. While any normal person would show surprise at his outburst, Kibum merely looked at him. "You are definitely not a bad person. Just someone that's hard to figure out."

Kibum blinked as Donghae continued. "You just need to go up to people, talk to them and-"

"And hope for another rejection?" Kibum finished.

Donghae chuckled. "No, not a rejection... Just hope that the other person realizes you're someone worth figuring out." Kibum took his words into consideration.

"Are you willing to figure me out?" Kibum asked. Donghae felt that it was an earnest question and nodded.

"It'll be hard, but I want to!" Donghae grinned. "If only you could make it easier for me." He gave a hint of a pout.

They stayed quiet for a while when Kibum looked out from the corner of his eyes, past Donghae. "That friend of yours is waiting."

Donghae furrowed his eyebrows and looked back. "Oh." He said in realization. He hurriedly gestured for Henry to go off on his own. Henry merely shook his head in response and did so.

"Is he mad?" Kibum asked.

Donghae chuckled. "No, he'll be fine. He won't get mad at me for this..." He paused as he thought about it before shaking his head quickly. "No he won't. We've been close friends for a long time now. He's basically my right hand."

"Mmmm. Is that so?" Kibum murmured. "You want to get to know me, but you already have someone like that." He said out loud. "I wouldn't want to get in the way."

Donghae bit his lip before he plopped his hands on his thighs. "Then we'll compromise. Henry will be my left hand and you are now my right hand. That way I can be close to both of you." He smiled brightly when he looked down at his own hands.

He was surprised when Kibum ruffled his hair with his fingers. "Cute." Donghae looked out from the corner of his eyes and saw something rare.

Kibum's smile was barely there, but the corners of his mouth was lifted; just slightly. It was enough for anyone who knew him, or stalked him for four years, to be able to see that difference.

To say that this shocked him would be an understatement. To say that he'd faint at the sight would be dead on the mark.

Kibum was left to revive Donghae, who had a peaceful yet triumphant smile on his face.
