If someone claims that same-sex marriage would somehow undermine their marriage, then their marriage is already in trouble.

How does letting two consenting adults do what they want to do and love who they want to love have any effect on you?

I really wonder myself-- and what makes me shake my head are the ones who say it must be a man and wife due to breeding. (I paraphrase, obviously)

Soooo... elderly people cannot get married as there is no way for them to reproduce? And what about those hetero couples who are infertile? Are states to offer fertility tests before allowing marriage now?

::shaking head::

Back when Prop 8 was on the ballot, the commercials offered really offended me, with the most heinous being a little girl coming home saying how her teacher had read a fairy tale (get it? ::eyeroll::) wherein a pair of princes ended up living happily ever after... and the mother recoiled in horror at the thought. Yeah, as if somehow the gay rubs off...

Hate is pointless... and most certainly, without reason.

What is funny, is those comercials helped make the case for overturning it. In that the showed the law was based on old stereotypes of criminals and perverts.

They were essentially saying "If you vote for same sex marriage, homosexuals are going to corrupt your children" and I believe that is what the Judge mentioned in his case in that the law was based on old stereotypes rather than any rational decisions.

You certainly are not a peon, but a wonderful person with an amazing heart-- and you best be figuring how to get here for the party when-the-heck-ever we DO get the legalities over with.

We'll have plenty of time and warning for everyone, as money is tight all over, but I'm hoping to have the party of parties to celebrate this!
