Whiskey Lullaby (1/1)

This is a fic I wrote before Rapture aired. It's taken me until now to work up the courage to post it. I'm letting people know right off the bat that it is intended to be vague. The actions of some characters are up for interperation, and it is up to the reader to fill in what happened behind the scenes if they are so inclined.

I downloaded the song and then I read the warnings and then I needed a little time to get prepared for it. And even knowing the outcome from the song, it was still quite intense to read the way you portrayed it. Wow! Very powerful indeed. I love that it was from Helo's perspective. It was interesting how both events pretty much mimicked each other exactly and just how they affected him made it more powerful. So tragic.

These lines just give me the chills and make me very sad:
In Kara’s left hand she clutched something, like she didn’t want to let go, not even in death.

In death they could be together for eternity, something they hadn’t accomplished in life.

*hugs*

I think it probably has a different effect if you've heard the song and now exactly how it's going to play out. I'm glad it was still intense that way though!

Thanks so much for reading!

*hugs*

Wow you actually made me cry with this. I've trained myself not to cry about anything in Galactica so that just goes to show how well this is written. I really like the way it's writen from Helo's POV, it so much more powerful that way.

H A P P Y - B I R T H D A Y ! ! !

I'll call you later tonight sweets to sing you that embarrassing song I warned you about! *winks* I hope you're feeling better today, at least somewhat. Hopefully your days going well too, I really want this day to be good for you. Hell great, fantastic, wonderful! Of course reality is once you're no longer a kid B-Day's aren't overly celebrated. Trust me I speak from experience. Past few have sucked.

I won't be well enough this weekend but maybe next weekend we can do something? Give me hints on what you want for presents kay? DVD seasons you might want. Games. Favorite clothing store? Gift certificate for new shoes perhaps? I know you love shoes. Or at least you loved the last pair you bought. I need hints. And there will be NONE of that "You don't have to buy me anything" crap! That would so earn you a smack.

Hugs Cass!

Thank you!

Embarassing song hey? *grins* My birthday was really great, all things considered. I mean, it would have been fantastic if I hadn't needed to study for the midterm I have today, but I really can't get around that.

Next weekend could definitely work out. I'm house sitting for someone, but I dont' have to be there 24-7, so yeah. I'll just have to make sure I have a car. :)

Present ideas... wow, this could be hard. I was barely able to make a list for Christmas. Lol. Places I shop at regularly: American Eagle, La Senza and Ricki's. And as much as I love shoes, I don't think I need any right now. As for other ideas... I need season 1 of Atlantis, but I cannot find it anywhere, and I've been looking for months. And I wouldn't be opposed to getting another Nickelback CD. Either the Long Road or Silver Side Up.

And I think I'm out of ideas! Do you know how hard that was to come up with stuff? Lol.

Talk to you later!

So I read it! God that was beautiful. Very well written and that song... I love that song despite. Not a huge fan of country but that song gets to me every time. I should have listened to it while reading. That would have been whoa... Poor Helo having to walk in on both of them. I like how you did it through his eyes, watching them decay without each other, trying to care for them the best he can. A wonderful portrayal of him in this.

I'm so going to have to reread this with the song playing in the background.

Well done!

*blushes* Thank you so much! I've loved the song for a long time, but then one time I was listening and I realized that it could totally be K/L.

--Thank you. It did turn out to be a Helo-ish fic too. :)

*hugs* Thanks for reading!
