The spark that ignited this story’s premise was that bright yellow key featured in Bronwyn’s “An Inauspicious Beginning,” which has become -- for me, at least -- canon in its own right. “Shadow and Light” is about 9 parts movieverse to 1 part bookverse, and takes place three months after STTS.
