I want to say something supportive, but I don't go to anyones service of any faith, and I leave the room if anyone prays. So I guess I'm noone to talk.

The only certain feelings religion generates are strong ones. Its one of the reasons I don't allow it in my life.

Wow, what a dick move. I'm really sorry. :( I would come if I weren't, you know, thousands of miles away. I know it's so meaningful to you.

Aw, thanks. :) I'd love to have all my friends here but it is terrific just to know that so many of y'all will be thinking of me; that really helps! *hugs*

Somehow I missed seeing this when you posted -- I'm so sorry to hear that they've failed to support you like this. It's really sad (and angering) that they can't be there for you, but have to filter everything as though it applied directly to them: they're not Jewish, therefore they cannot show face at a Jewish ceremony. I hope that you will have many other family and friends showering you with love and congratulations on the day!

Yeah, it was weird how they never gave any indication that they felt so strongly and then didn't even have the guts to call and tell me. :(

Well, even if I haven't got as many folks coming as some of the other gals (one of whom has invited 150 people), at least I know I have all of y'all behind me. :)

As a raging Catholic, I support your strength and resilience in regards to your upcoming religious ceremony. I would be there to cheer you on, if I lived closer. Plus, I'd love to learn more about bar/bat mitzvahs. Sounds cool. Your kids will enjoy your dedication to your faith as they receive the fruits of your efforts. You already know that they are the ones who are not "doing it right." You're doing it all right, and that's all that matters. We'll be praying for you on July 19th. - DancingQueen

Thank you! ^_^ I haven't posted much about my bat mitzvah because I've been so nervous/stressed out/resentful about it, but I may do so more as the date approaches. I very much appreciate your support and hope you & yours are well.
