Millie stared down at the lab specimen with disinterest, adjusting her goggles with a gloved hand.    The soft rock station she'd been listening to finally came back from what had seemed like a long commercial break (or maybe the day really was crawling by that slowly).  The DJ made an announcement and then started playing another holiday-themed

Cutch walked up to the lab with his arms full of evidence bags. He heard the Christmas music coming from inside and smiled. 'At least someone is full of cheer...' he thought to himself as he walked through the door. There he saw Millie. Her back was turned to him and she was still strumming her guit- er, broom, dancing and singing along. Cutch's smile turned into a grin and he started chuckling.

"I wanna wish you a---" Millie heard the chuckling from behind her and stopped dancing. Slowly, she turned around, broom in hand. Seeing it was only Taylor McCutcheon, she finished, sheepishly, "--Merry Christmas."

Cutch smiled at Millie as she turned around, flustered. "And a happy New Year!" He finished. "I come bearing gifts. They may as well call me Santa." He set the bags on one of the open tables closest to Millie. "Nothing will put you in the holiday spirit like crime scene evidence."

"Oh, yeah," Millie said, taking off her goggles and setting the broom down. "The red of blood, the green of fibers or better yet, of mucus. Ho, ho, ho."
