Help/advice from watchers please?

I've been looking at all my recent dumps, and I thought the most recent one was the best so far because I gained 3 watchers from it at once. But turns out I looked at another dump [AKA graphics post #5] ended up getting an overall of 23 comments, while the recent one made 19. That doesn't seem like that much, but I'm confused why it fluctuates like ( Read more... )

While comments are nice. Alot of people don't take the time to hit "leave a comment" and let you know your graphics are amazing (which they are!) or that they're snagging however many. To me, the success of an icon dump is how you feel after you've posted it and you see it in your community along with the rest. I've had posts where, once I post them, I start saying to myself, "Man this was a mistake...i feel horrible now. Ugh!" and I feel all depressed. (If thats even possible) But it's all about humbling ones self. The number of comments doesnt make or break an icon dump. There could be about 500 people who love your work but only about 16 will leave a comment or watch the community. That's why I always praise those who do leave a comment, and you start to notice too. Some people start to become "regulars" on your icon posts and those are the true fans. :D

On the watcher/commenter issue, I really agree with ah_anime18 - he said it perfectly. It's never really about how many people you get commenting/posting, it's all about what you feel after you post the icons. ;) There are always going to be those people who just don't comment or watch, they just are there for a bit. And there's always going to be those who watch & comment with every post. You've just got to go with the flow & icon what YOU enjoy.

I'm just always surprised when I get viewers on my graphics comm marionette_icon. I always make my graphics for myself and then share with others whenever I feel like it.
