Work is utterly dull. I spent today digging through random text files and finding some fic snippets I'd forgotten entirely about. So, fic dump.

I really like the Animorphs story...though I think I'm missing something to do with the New Hampshire license plates. Is there a state motto cliche I'm forgetting or something?

Anyways, really nice handling of Marco's perspective.

Thank you! And the New Hampshire license plates say "Live Free or Die" on them. In "Visser," Marco told Visser One that he and Eva had a conversation about the license plates when he was younger, about whether it was cheesy as a motto or not.

I'm glad you liked it because I totally wrote that one for you for Christmas after you put Nana/Hachi in your Yuletide request letter...and promptly forgot all about it until I found the file now. *facepalm*

I still love them but I'm just not that tuned into NANA anymore?? I don't know what I'd write about, as the early era of the manga is really the only part of the story that fills me with utter joy. I check back in every couple of months, but now I really only care about seeing if the Nana/Hachi reunion lives up to the world of pain that has been the buildup to it. :(

This was the best. You have great timing too, since I really need something to break up my studying so I'd do a little of my study sheet and then read a ficlet. :P A+ procrastination.

Obviously my favorites were the Chlionel and the Rui/Shigeru (crack!pairings of choice FTW!). Seriously. There were so many good lines it's hard to pick just one or two. You really nail down the Chlionel relationship. And I loved all the references to Gatsby in the Rui/Shigeru story. I never really thought to think about why Gatsby would be Rui's favorite book, but it just makes so much SENSE when you think about it. Shizuka was totally an idealized woman, just like Daisy although Shizuka was also awesome.

I love that Gatsby is Rui's favorite book. I find his lingering obsession and idealization of Shizuka to be...I think "awesomely creepy" is the only thing to call it. In that scene where he's driving Shizuka home, and he says, "Everything Makino does is to copy Shizuka. It's so cute," I'm just like OH GOD, DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST SAY THAT?! DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF WHEN YOU TALK, RUI?!!
