See, for some reason, when I signed up for band when we were making our schedules for next year, I wasn't added to the list. So basically I wasn't registered for band, and whoop-de-la-de-da, so they went on making the drill with no spot for me.

Don't join. Seriously, if you do all the things that you are supposed to do and they fail to register you and you miss a spot as a result, that is their error and you should not be the one to suffer for it. Tell them what to do with themselves. You will feel a lot better that way.

I considered it, but in the end, I'd rather stay in band and learn a new instrument than drop it. Band is like...the only thing I enjoy at that school.

Also, if you don't do marching band, you can't do concert band, which is when I'd do clarinet again. It's upsetting, sure, but well, I can look on the bright side. Such as the fact that I've been wanting to learn piano for real some time now, and doing the whole xylophone thing will help me get there.

All good points, and I cannot really dispute any of them. I only suggested not joining because of my recent dropping out of a subject and feeling so much better.

I hope this band thing does work out in the end for you. I would love to be able to do music properly, so I am somewhat envious.
