I just came back from the stage society's production of Grease. It was far better than the one my school put on when I was in grade eleven. Both the leads this time were the triple threat. Whenever I leave a good stage production I want to be a triple threat. At the moment I am more like a one and two-thirds threat. I'd like to at least increase

Yeah, and we wonder why teenage girls have self-esteem issues. After her transformation, Sandra Dee wore a spandex bodysuit and smoked a real cigarette on stage. I've never seen the film version but that seemed a bit over the top.

LOL-- actually, as I was walking in the door I thought to myself, you know, I really ought to edit this post and say that the most impressive part of this production was that everybody had a perfect midwest American accent. I forgot I was in England.

I can't believe you would publicly criticize that production!
I found that the director effectively and impressively paired the roles with students whose personal experience differed enough from their characters to allow the students to explore a full emotional range. I would even go so far as to suggest that the casting resulted in a play that made the cast, crew, and audience re-think the social relations of the entire school. I also found the gender roles laid out for girls/women in the play did a good job of bringing back the 'family values' a good christian school like Sir John should support.
On the other hand, I do miss the good ol' days of sin... like the simply sexy Orchestra in grade ten's "Wilkommen."
