Paul NyghtOwl is a sadomasochistic switch who is happiest with a good piece of rattan in his hands. He has been in the public scene for eight years, starting with TES and later joining GMSMA and Black Rose. He has taught caning at TES, BR, DomSub Friends, Long Island Leather and Roses, and Columbia University’s Conversio Virum group. (He was never able to tell his Mom that he lectured at Columbia!) He has sold his own handmade canes at the Crucible’s LF & P, the Boston Fetish Flea, and TESFest. This is his second time teaching at Black Rose.
Caning as a drum solo? The Rhythm and the Heat (or “Paul’s Caning Workshop, Version 3.0”) incorporates drumming, percussion and percussion implements with traditional and non-traditional rattan canes and martial arts equipment to create a symphony of impact for the bottom. Using music and traditional percussion techniques, the cane becomes a sensual implement that unlocks newfound realms of sensation for the bottom, and adds excitement and variety to a classic S&M staple. After a quick overview of the basics, we’ll break out the sticks and go to whack-er, work.
