As I suspected, the government won the vote on whether there should be an enquiry about the Iraq war/situation before the troops pull out (if they ever fcuking do) 298 to 273. So no enquiry until after the war (if ever).

Tribunal has ruled that the teaching assistant who wore a veil in front of male colleagues WASN'T discriminated against, and that her rights to religious expression (or whatever) were kept. She should be paid £1,000 for hurt feelings though.

The Ram Brewery in London, owned by Young's, is set to close. I'm really rather sad about that. I used to work in a health food shop in Putney, and I really liked it when I saw Young's shire horses go through the crossroads, pulling beer along in a cart. I'm tearful actually.
