Does the truth/telling the truth come ever down on you like a tonne of bricks? If I don't say what's on my mind I feel like I'm going to explode. Well, I got myself in big trouble for saying too much recently. I thought I was being honest, but it turned out out was just being tactless. Now I'm treading very very carefully, and I find the mental strain of carefully considering what I can say and what I can't rather exhausting.

Mmm, i do have trouble with this at times. Particularly when i don't have a clearly defined role in the context. I can deal with it well in the short term, but especially with a work environment i find it very hard after a period of a few months where the lines start to blur with hirachies (sp?) and personal relationships with work collegues.
I find it particularly hard in conjunction with the sort of "toeing the line, playing the game, conforming to social/work norms/expectations" that goes with nearly all jobs. I just end up wanting to say that work procedures are bollocks and pointless, and i dont' want to do them. Or on a personal level, given that i am "unconventional" by many people's standards, the urge to counter the conventional wisdom of doing or behaving in certain ways increases over time - it doesn't make you friends saying that you can't see the point of marriage for example!

I suppose public knitting leaves one somewhat more "accessible for interaction" for the surrounding people than, say, reading a book would. Which is what I'd do to prevent me from getting bored.
