Cat Stevens started me on it. Don't ask me why I was reading about Cat Stevens, but I was. Wikipedia mentions that once he converted to Islam he stopped recording because music may not be allowed under Islamic jurisprudence. The thing about religion is that everyone decides their own level of involvement. Jews and Christians have some nonsensical beliefs that all but the most fundamentalist discard. Muslim guy I once worked with, he had no problem with music, seeing as how he had a $800 stereo system in his truck. :D Fuck religion, extremism and hunger for power is the real blight. Most normal folks are just caught in the middle.

I have to agree with the above commenter - it definitely comes down to what people want to do with the religion, which was (obviously) created by people in the first place. Any religion is complete bullshit, isn't it? Most politics do contain an unneeded and unhealthy amount of bullshit. Hell, I can't even do straight philosophies.

You heard the thing about Islamic Fun Day at a theme park in England being cancelled, right?

They were going to segregate all the rides by sex and not play any music but there wasn't enough interest to do it.

Dude, you're worrying me.

Muslims are people who belong to a religion, they're not by-products of Islam. I know tons of Muslims who don't give a shit about that stuff.

Besides, they gave us Algebra and hospitals too apparently.
