Well, this one in particular, I am convinced was done by Alex Lieu. He's a graphic designer and is the architect for whysoserious.com and the reason I say this is because the Batman logo is not part of the title like the posters distributed by Warner Bros. The poster looks exactly like his work.
But I could be very wrong indeed.
I do however, agree with your whole statement.
