'Intelligence genes' proving hard to find

Maybe cuz they're intelligent? Try looking for the dumb genes, I'm sure they're much easier to find. As a hint, in guys they're located around the genitals and in women around the parts of the brain that control emotion.

Did you ever read Larry Niven? I think he explored this idea in a slightly different context. One of his characters was searching for the luckiest person in the universe -- but couldn't find them because of a lengthy series of strange coincidences by which the target kept ducking contact. Go figure.

I don't think there are specific dumb genes, I just think people are dumb. So if dumb is the default, you'd have to look for the intelligent genes. But considering that they only exist in approximately half of a percent of people, it's going to be a long road.
