If he can make it to 9 November next year, he will beat the record of 33 years 118 days set by his old boss, Richard Nixon, as ex-President to live longest after the end of his term.

That can't be right. Ford left office only 2 years after Nixon and Nixon died more than 2 years ago. I think you mean that Nixon died 23 years after the end of his term.
