First serious attack of mouth ulcers in almost a year, brought on (I'm pretty sure) by skipping breakfast two days of last week, aftermath of minor car crash two weeks ago, and pile-up of work after a week of travel. Have been trying the steroid paste with no success at all. Now switching to straight painkillers plus tea-tree oil mouthwash. May not ( Read more... )

Seconding the cool icon - I could almost picture, although you don't curse (or not much in my hearing, anyway), the icon with a "WTF?"

Sympathies on the mouth ulcers. Steroid paste? Eeeuw! I could see switching to the herbal remedies if only because they can be more pleasant. Though, I've done clove oil onto toothaches and oral wounds (when I bit myself on the inside of the cheek), and that's fairly overwhelming. But effective for pain-relief. Antimicrobial action couldn't have hurt, either.

Crazy(but then, I studied aromatherapy and was warned off using clove oil topically on mucous membranes... go figure)Soph
