These three all won Hugo and Nebula Awards presented in 1985 for work published in 1984. (So the 1985 Hugo, but the 1984 Nebula.)

I didn't find Neuromancer very appealing either. This distressed me, because at the time Bill Gibson was part of my social circle (though I didn't know him personally), I wished him well, and I'd heard him read part of the book aloud to a small audience before it was published.
