Interested in election observing?

There are some interesting elections coming up before the summer, all of which will presumably have OSCE election observation missions deployed to them, which will in turn need people from OSCE participating states (Europe, former Soviet Union, US and Canada) to do the observing.

Hmmm. I did election observing in the US in November. I have Experience! On the other hand, May already has one trip (Madison for Wiscon), June may have one to Oklahoma (family) and July is just impossible -- it always is.... Of course I also don't speak any of these languages. What do they speak in Kyrgyzstan anyhow?

Hyrgyz (a Turkic language) and also Russian. Though language experience is less important than elections experience. Also at this stage it looks like the Kyrgyz elections may not take place as soon as June - keep an eye on the situation there (Google news alerts are a good wayt of doing this, also iwpr.net and rferl.org).

Nevertheless, I tried to visit the US page and thus discover that link isn't working. At least not for me at 1:15pm PST Wednesday. EEEK! Is that the time? I have a doctor's appointment in an hour. Must run.

Try this.

And the language is Kyrgyz not Hyrgyz as I said earlier.
