Vasectomy, ten years on

I had a vasectomy just over ten years ago, at the end of June 2008. The reasoning was fairly simple. When you have two children with severe disabilities, it’s difficult not to conclude that something is up genetically. In any case I was 41, and we had three children and did not want any more. I had a laproscopy (tubes cut) in 1987, and didn't find recovery took long. I was only in hospital for two nights, I think, (one before the keyhole surgery, and one after) and was back to work two days later.

Fair enough, but a vasectomy doesn’t even require an overnight stay!

Well, that's convenient! But I wouldn't call a laprosopy major surgery - it was pretty minor.
