My impression from that article is that it's not "new" episodes available at all, but the first season which came out on DVD years ago. (Amazon tells me I bought it in August 2003.) That release isn't currently available new, but that's still not the same as "new" availability, really. I was hoping for s2! :)

Does Fred ever come out to his parents as dead? I remember, even a a child, being struck by just how high concept concealing that you were dead was, although the metaphors passed me by.

It's my recollection that he does try, but *hijinks* stop them believing him. I'd have to rewatch (and now I want to anyway) to see how early he tries, though I know he remains unsuccessful in s1, but I also have a vague memory of him succeeding in doing so in the spin-off novels.
