What a thoughtful and kind idea to write it all out that way. Sounds like that family can use a little kindness.

While I'm sad that any family had to go through that, I have to agree with eglantine that I think writing it out in simplified English is a really good idea.

That is a very thoughtful and very heartbreaking judgement. I do wonder if the children would ever have been separated from Mr A if his violence hadn't taken Syria as its focus - that's what got the police interested enough to gather sufficient evidence of his unpleasantness.

(The judge is kinder to the mother than I feel, but I suppose the fact he is writing for her children may have had some bearing on that.)

I've been thinking about it, and reading between the lines it looks very likely to me that the judge suspects that the mother has at least a mild learning disability; so the simplified language is as much for her benefit as for that of the kids.
