That article about the Sad Puppies was interesting. Intent is interesting, in that it matters so much (except when it doesn't), and it's so hard to determine externally. Or even internally, sometimes. I think the poster read things correctly about how non-Puppies see the Puppies as 90% resentment. I admit I was rather disappointed to see so many people respond to that resentment in kind. May this year's trend (of talking about the works we like instead) continue.
(In television news commentary, especially in the US right wing, the "other side"'s intent usually signals the most guesswork (though it's often presented as fact) as well as the most indignant-making part of any topic. But that's a different set if links.)
