5) Dangerous Visions, ed. Harlan Ellison

Tried emailing this to LJ as well, but no sign of it. Meantime I posted the gist of it also to a relevant thread on RASFW.

I've bought and reread this because the next story on my list of joint Hugo and Nebula winners is in it, and also in the name of my continuing sfnal education. It's a great collection ( Read more... )

Hah, I was just looking at the spine of my copy in Dublin last night and considering picking it up... Good old Ted Sturgeon. I always think of him as someone whose stories start off comforting and get a bit, er, uncomfortable.

There's an unofficial sequel to this collection, edited by Al Sarrantonio, and titled "Red Shift: Extreme Visions of Speculative Fiction".
I really enjoyed it.

Yep, I read it too, and enjoyed it; though a couple of years on it doesn't stick in the mind as much as I thought it would at the time. I would love to know the story behind John Clute's comments on "Cleopatra Brimstone", by Elizabeth Hand.

Read 'Again, Dangerous Visions' and 'The Last Deadloss Visions' (I have the latter saved away, somewhere, if you have trouble finding it).

I found "The Last Deadloss Visions" on a server somewhere in Sweden - a great read, indeed!

Again, Dangerous Visions is on my shopping list.
