Re the first link, the ostensible PBA "wartime" memo was disavowed by a spokesman. That said, I pretty much agree with the conclusion of the piece you linked to. It's very tense here right now.

The rhetoric in that article is _way_ over the top. The police have been closing ranks and defending themselves a bit, yes - as you do when lots of potentially-armed people are walking around proclaiming that the only good person-like-you is a dead person-like-you
