That calendar article was a thoroughly creepy read. "It would be so good for MONEY! Actual people might not like it... but think of the MONEY!" Also, having Christmas/New Year on a weekend in the UK wouldn't save any money because we get weekday bank holidays in lieu, surely?
I noticed that. "A handful of days" would be about 5 out of 250, or about 2% more days work for the workers, for a 1% increase in "productivity". I love it when the labour-employing minority calls people working harder, "productivity".
