2013 Hugos: Best Novelette

May 25, 2013 18:07

Now that the Hugo Voter Pack is out, I'm working through the various folders and files; in response to one query, all the fiction (as far as I've checked) is available in .mobi and .epub formats as well as PDF. I've been reading them on iPhone/iPad in Kindle format (ie .mobi).

I liked this list more than the novels but less than the novellas. ( Read more... )

The way I'm planning to vote:

1. Fade to White (Catherynne M. Valente)
2. The Girl-Thing Who Went Out for Sushi (Pat Cadigan)
3. Rat-Catcher (Seanan McGuire)
4. In Sea-Salt Tears (Seanan McGuire)
5. The Boy Who Cast No Shadow (Thomas Olde Heuvelt)

We agree on the first-place choices in the novella and novelette categories. I haven't finished all of the novels yet, but I know for a fact that we won't have the same first-place choice in that category.

We agreed pretty well here, too. For me the top two were far and away better than 3 and 4, though.
